Another scholarship in play would be Col. Loren J. and Mrs. Lawona R. Spencer Scholarship, a program which has been structured to provide three $5,000 scholarships for Air Force personnel (Active Duty, civilian, or full-time National Guard or Reserve), who are striving to pursue graduate-level education in management and administration for eventually landing senior-level leadership roles.
Moving on to the John C. and Blanche Lee Lindsay Memorial Scholarship, it will basically pledge one $2,500 scholarship to a child of members of the United States Air Force, a child who should be pursuing a college degree. Beyond that, there would be Delta Dental Grants. The next scholarship in line is called Dr. Sydell Perlmutter Gold Memorial Scholarship. The stated program will conceive a renewable $5,000 annual scholarship for a total possible award of $20,000. As for who exactly will be the beneficiary here, it will be the daughter of Active, Guard, or Reserve Air Force members who could be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any STEM field.
Hold on, we still have a few bits left to unpack, considering we are yet to touch upon the availability of Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Scholarship, a program which plans on providing $1,000 to current and former members of the Air and Space Forces, Air National Guard, and Reserve, and their spouses or children, thus supporting their ambitions of a college degree or flight training.
We also haven’t touched on AFA’s all-new Destin Flight Works Pilot Training Scholarship. Understood to be funded by Vertol Systems Company, Inc., this program provides one AFA member per year up to $10,000 to facilitate pilot training courses, instructor fee, and aircraft rental. The overarching idea behind that is to secure a private pilot’s license from the Destin Flight Works School in Destin, Fla.
