Safe Pro Group Inc, a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions specializing in drone imagery processing, has officially confirmed the news of securing a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its groundbreaking technology.
According to certain reports, the stated technology arrives on the scene with an ability to identify, locate and map explosives, something it does by leveraging Safe Pro’s proprietary AI-powered SpotlightAI™ drone image analysis and reporting software platform.
Talk about the given development on a slightly deeper level, we begin from how this newly-issued patent happens to include all 21 claims made in the company’s original patent application entitled, “Systems and Methods for Detecting and Identifying Explosives.” These claims, on their part, cover autonomous detection, identification, and labeling of explosives in orthomosaic images using AI processing of drone imagery.
Beyond that, the technology in question is well-equipped to, like we briefly touched on, leverage the groundbreaking nature of SpotlightAI™, as well as its ability to transform fields ranging from humanitarian demining, agriculture, to national defense and reconstruction.
SpotlightAI™ system’s excellence in what it does can also be understood once you take into account how it is currently being used by multiple humanitarian mine action organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and government entities where it has, thus far, processed over 840,614 images, analyzed over 11,768 GB of data, and identified over 10,912 real-world landmines and unexploded ordnance. Not just that, the technology is also being used in Ukraine at the moment.
“To date, our patented SpotlightAI™ technology has helped locate over 10,000 landmines and other explosives in Ukraine in support of humanitarian, agricultural and reconstruction efforts. Our goal now is to further leverage our newly protected IP as we seek to collaborate with a broadened array of potential new partners and customers in commercial, humanitarian and national defense markets where our technology can support their critical missions,” said Dan Erdberg, Chairman and CEO of Safe Pro Group Inc.
More on Safe Pro’s SpotlightAI™ hyper scalable, cloud-based software ecosystem would reveal how is markedly made to work alongside commercially available off-the-shelf drones. Apart from that, it can also bank upon advanced machine learning models to seamlessly facilitate small object detection and data reporting. Complementing this particular function would be an extensive proprietary dataset, which is capable of rapidly identifying and locating 150+ types of land mines and UXO.
Moving on, the software also uses the hyper scalability of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud to process for you massive amounts of sub-centimeter-level drone imagery to securely generate detailed, high-resolution orthomosaic maps that can highlight any objects of interest. Once it has done so, the technology can then plot the detection results on customizable, GPS-tagged, sub-centimeter-level, high resolution 2-D and 3-D maps to provide a “bird’s-eye view” of the surveyed area. This it does to deliver enhanced situational awareness for planning clearing and land release efforts by local governments and humanitarian aid organizations.
Founded in 2014, Safe Pro Group’s rise up the ranks stems from specializing in drone imagery processing, a mechanism where it leverages commercially available “off-the-shelf” drones with its proprietary machine learning and computer vision technology to enable rapid identification of explosives threats, The company’s clientele, at the moment, includes commercial organizations, government, law enforcement and humanitarian sectors, where its Safe Pro AI software, Safe-Pro USA protective gear, and Airborne Response drone-based services work in synergy to deliver safety and operational efficiency.
